FlorinHumic Instructions
Improves nutrient uptake by plants, and encourages fish spawning, in ponds and water gardens
Overview
• Enhances the effectiveness of plant nutrient solutions and fertilizers added to ponds by providing natural, beneficial humic substances.
• Encourages fish spawning by simulating the arrival of the rainy season.
Technical Background
FlorinHumic will slightly lower the pH in the water, and will discolor it (giving it a transparent black tea-like coloration) in direct correlation with the dosage used and the method(s) of chemical filtration employed. FlorinHumic will also soften water as a result of the natural chelating action of humic substances. These are all important environmental and/or chemical cues utilized by fishes for the onset of spawning.
FlorinHumic benefits plants by improving the availability of nutrients such as calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron, and many other micronutrients, which may improve water conditions in the pond or water garden through increased plant uptake of nitrogen and phosphorus.
Caution: Keep out of reach of children. Not for human consumption.
Instructions and Guidelines
Shake container well before each use. Add 1 capful (5 ml) of product per 50 US-gallons in pond water every other day or as required (~8 drops per 10 US-gallons (37.9 L)). At this dosage, 500 ml treats up to 5,000 US-gallons (18,927 L). Dosage may be increased to obtain specific degrees of water coloration and/or increased bioavailability of certain nutrients to plants. Store indoors, above 50°F (10°C).
As a Spawning Aid: Increased spawning activity is typically observed within 14 days of beginning to dose FlorinHumic on a daily basis (5-ml per 50 US-gallons). Maintain this dosage until fishes have concluded spawning and eggs have hatched, at which point dosage may be gradually decreased back to basic dosage. Consult reference materials for the specific spawning requirements of fishes in your pond and use this product to your best advantage. Fish must be properly conditioned to spawn successfully. An increase in water temperature and the quality of foods fed, in conjunction with following the above dosing instructions, will often encourage fishes to spawn. Be aware that an increase in feedings will generate increased waste and the need to remove it from the pond.
